Finish the Fight
Mar 5th
This is probably the skit I’m most embarrassed about. I hate seeing myself on camera and this has a lot of that.
Turkey Hitler
Feb 2nd
This is my 2nd favorite Duck Bucket skit of all time. We had to post a mini package similar to a 40s news reel on Turkey Hitler as well as a green screen pretape with a live duck. I can’t believe I got this all together in 6 hours. That day was crazy.
Based on the Turkey Hitler video
Hammer X
Feb 1st
Sean Poole reminded me of this today when I told him I needed interns to wear old-timey mustaches tomorrow.
After showing a video of the amazing Hammer X golf club in Around the Net, we showed the top secret army footage of the trials for the weapon. We shot this on green screen with our PAs, Sean Poole and Nik Visger playing the scientist and golfer. The Hammer X video is posted right after.
Olivia’s Sexy Fish Dance
Jan 29th
It’s time for another classic moment I produced. This one actually got linked on a bunch of sites including Defamer.
I had Olivia dance with dead fish and a squid. It smelled really, really awful. Special appearance by my arm!!!
Based on Vixen and the Fish from Around the Net that day:
Missing Dragon Corner Found!
Jan 28th
I completely forgot about this until I stumbled across it on our website. It turns out that Season 1 of Jeremy’s Dragon Corner had a total of 9 episodes. Here’s the one I neglected to post earlier. It’s about a dragon’s soft spot.
Rambo Flash Mob/Fish Bite 07 Live!
Jan 22nd
This is from just before I took over Around the Net. Shannon Hall asked me if I would be willing to bite a chunk out of a large fish and i said, ‘why the shit not?’ It turns out that biting the giant fish almost made me puke due to its excessive fishiness. I was also picking its scales out of my teeth for about 2 hours after this. This was to celebrate the then-new trailer for Rambo 4.
El Amante Robotico!
Jan 22nd
I did not produce these (the talented Mike Shaw did) but they were my brainchild. This is a skit I pitched back when I was a PA for AOTS in 2006. My dad was trying to convince me that telenovelas were going to be a hit on American TV and he was right – this was before Ugly Betty made it stateside. So i pitched a robosapien with a mustache and his own South American soap opera. Only 5 were made, and they are below:
Kitten Warrior
Jan 15th
Back in 2007 I produced a spoof of Ninja Warrior with Kittens. The segment below is a little long, I prefer the version we’re showing as a classic in today’s Attack of the Show which I cut down to 4 minutes. Still good though!
Wilkins Coffee
Jan 8th
Posting the German Sesame St sketch reminded me of the other puppet show I produced for Around the Net, the Wilkins Coffee commercials with Kevin and Olivia. We inserted Kevin and Olivia into Jim Henson’s vintage commercials starring ultra violent puppets. Kevin gets stabbed. Olivia scalds one to death.
Kudos to the Art Dept. and studio crew for getting the set to look so similar to the original ads.
Here are the original commercials we spoofed:
Job Hunt ‘07 Live!
Jan 8th
Back in 2007 I agreed to participate in a stunt named “Job Hunt” where fellow associate producer Steve Norman and I performed 3 office tasks while being shot at by high-powered air soft rifles from 10 feet away!
As you can see, we only wore masks (and cups) for protection. Also, there was no promotion at stake, we both volunteered for bragging rights. In the end we both got 30GB iPods, probably so we wouldn’t sue.
I’m using this as my “AOTS Classic” in this week’s Friday edition of AOTS.
